**OnePlus 15 Review: Outstanding Battery and Performance, but Not Without Compromises**
Despite being a familiar name in the Android smartphone world for over a decade, OnePlus has struggled to secure a significant market presence in the United States. While there was a time when OnePlus seemed poised to challenge industry giants like Samsung and Apple, its position has since slipped behind competitors such as Motorola and Google. With the launch of the OnePlus 15, the company hopes to rekindle interest and recapture lost ground, offering a fresh design, impressive hardware, and some unique features—though not without a few drawbacks.
**A Fresh Look, Familiar Price**
The OnePlus 15 marks a departure from the brand’s previous design language. Gone is the distinctive circular camera module and marble-patterned back, replaced by a more conventional square camera bump and solid color finishes: Infinite Black, Sand Storm, and Ultra Violet. While the new look may lack some of the character that set earlier models apart, it boasts a clean and modern feel. The Sand Storm version, in particular, features a special “micro arc oxidation” process for added durability and scratch resistance, though it also makes the phone unusually slippery.
Priced at $900 for the base model (with upgrades to color and faster RAM pushing the cost to $1,000), the OnePlus 15 remains within the flagship price tier. The phone will soon be available in the US, pending FCC certification, and will support all major carriers.
**Unparalleled Battery Life and Speedy Charging**
The standout feature of the OnePlus 15 is its battery. Sporting a massive 7,300-mAh silicon-carbon cell—significantly larger than the 5,000-mAh battery found in competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra—the phone delivers best-in-class battery life. In real-world use, the device comfortably lasts two full days on a single charge, with light users sometimes ending the day with as much as 70% battery remaining. Even under heavy usage, such as streaming music, using navigation, or browsing social media, the battery regularly finishes the day above 50%. Over a two-day period, it can achieve an impressive 10.5 hours of screen-on time.
OnePlus also continues to lead the market in fast-charging technology. Unlike most rivals, the OnePlus 15 includes a charger in the box, essential for taking advantage of its proprietary SuperVooc charging. The phone can be charged from 15% to 80% in just 30 minutes (and to 50% in 15 minutes), relieving much of the anxiety around battery depletion. However, the charger is somewhat bulky and lacks foldable prongs—a minor inconvenience for those on the go.
Wireless charging is supported, but only at standard Qi speeds, falling short of the newer and faster Qi2 standard with magnetic attachments seen on devices like Apple’s MagSafe. OnePlus offers magnetic cases as a workaround, but the phone
